I love sending my son and his little classmates goodies to school for special occasions, like birthdays and holidays. I knew I wanted to do something cute to mark the start of summer, and I love how this end of the school year gift came out.
You’d be surprised what you can find at Dollar Tree . I headed over to wander the aisles and saw beach balls which gave me an idea. At only a dollar each, I knew I could put a cute tag on them and they’d be the perfect end of the school year gift. I decided to grab them and some of their “loot” bags to make the perfect “little something” for his classmates. If you’re a teacher, these are a great, cost effective end of the school year gift for your students too.
Supplies:
beach balls
clear loot/goodie bags
scissors
hole punch
gift tag
glass of wine (optional)
Let’s get crafty!
This honestly could not be easier, and its so darn cute. First thing I did was cut out all of the tags. I prefer to use a paper cutter, like this one, for straighter lines, but a scissor would work fine. Typically I’d search for something on Etsy but I decided to try my hand at making my own and I love how they came out. Don’t worry, I’m providing you guys with a free printable link for them here.
Once you cut them out, use a hold punch or small shape punch make a hole where the ribbon will go through.
Next open all of the beach balls. I folded them in thirds to fit inside the loot bag. Side Note: If you’re ever in Dollar Tree and see these loot bags, GRAB THEM! I buy them anytime I see them. They are the perfect size for birthday goodie bags, baked treats, small gifts, you name it! Plus you can’t beat the price, 20 bags for $1.
Last, cut your curling ribbon, thread it through the tag, and tie a knot.
That’s it! The perfect end of the school year gift for any age! I told you it was simple.
Not easy enough for you?
Listen, I get it. Not everyone wants to be a Pinterest mom. And I’m definitely not calling myself on, though I have a deep down dream of becoming one, but life is busy and sometimes were just too darn tired to open beach balls from one bag to put in another and curl ribbon, but don’t let that stop you. Simply print the tag, and tape it on top of the package. Same idea, less time consuming, but still cute!
